Osama’s son missing in Pakistan since US raid: Report

Islamabad: One of Osama bin Laden’s sons went missing after the raid by US commandos on the al Qaeda leader’s hideout in Pakistan’s Abbottabad town, a media report said Tuesday.

Osama’s three wives who are in custody said that one of his sons has not been seen since the May 2 raid, the ABC News quoted Pakistani officials as saying. The son has not been identified, but Pakistani investigators agreed that it appeared someone was missing from the sprawling compound, it said.
US officials said that one of Osama’s sons, Khalid, was killed in the raid. It is not known if another son, Hamza, was in the compound at the time of the raid, though his mother is reportedly one of the wives in custody.
The US has denied its special forces took anyone from the compound other than Osama’s body.
The US initially faced resistance from Pakistani authorities when investigators asked for access to Osama’s widows, but a US official said Monday Pakistani officials promised to make the meeting happen sometime soon.
One senior Pakistani security official told ABC News there is still no timeframe for that meeting, however.
Osama, who was married five times, is survived by at least 18 children. None of the sons, however, are in line to succeed their father for leadership of al Qaeda, ABC News reported.
"Unlike a lot of Arab governments that are dynastic," said former White House counter-terrorism advisor Richard Clarke, now an ABC News consultant. "Al Qaeda has not been and his sons have never played a real operational role of any significance. They did not appear to be groomed for leadership roles in al Qaeda."

The two got married April 29 and an insider said: "After the glitter and excitement of their wedding and all the organisation it involved, they can’t wait to spend some quality time on their own."
Britain’s Daily Mail has quoted another source as saying: "It’s one of the most incredible places you will ever visit and Catherine will have the time of her life. It’s everything you could want from a honeymoon destination and more – beautiful beaches, tropical seas and complete privacy."

Schwarzenegger, Shriver part ways after 25 years

London: Actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife Maria Shriver have confirmed their split after 25 years of marriage.

Shriver, who tied the knot with Schwarzenegger in 1986, moved out of their Brentwood, California home a few weeks ago, reports the Los Angeles Times.
However, the two will take care of their four children together and are working "on the future" of their relationship, reports contactmusic.com.
"This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us. After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship," they said in a joint statement.
"We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and the center of both of our lives. We consider this a private matter and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment. We ask for compassion and respect from the media and the public."

Osama Bin Laden’s Rare Family Album

Only after Osama Bin Laden was killed by the U.S. special forces in Quetta, Pakistan on May 1, 2011, have some rare pictures of his family members been released. Though he had four wives and more than 20 children, the media found it hard to spot photos of these people.

Among Osama bin Laden’s children, Omar bin Laden is the son most opposed to his father's violence, he even got a British woman and wished to have a peace movement. Osama’s first daughter had to walk down the aisle at the age of 12 but became widow two years later.
