I don't know how much Google AdSense can pay out for the top Ad Words (70%?), but I have compiled my own top-paying keyword word list by using the free, public Overture Bid Tool, which is now gone. However, you can now check your words using the Free Google AdWords Keyword Suggestion Tool. On Feb. 2, 2009, I revised this list of top-bid, top-paying key words, using the Google Ad Words free Keyword Tool. Below, you can compare current keyword bids with old Overture bids from 2004. I compiled this AdSense top-paying-words chart because of all the speculation on forums, and I was curious to see what word combinations are hot right now. In no way, is this list meant to be complete. These are just terms I stumbled upon. Here is my theory of how publishers get paid.

Example of Bid Amount on the Search Network from the above tables. AdWords Advertiser Higher Bid $ ON THE SEARCH NETWORK | How AdSense Payout to Publisher Is Determined All of the bids shown above are for the "Google Search Network".
Payout to AdSense publishers is based upon "Content Network Bids" on the "Google Content Network". Bids on the "Content Network" are typically FAR LESS than half as much as for the Search Network. Advertisers pay less for clicks from non-converting webpage content ads.
Estimated EQUIVALENT AdWords Advertiser Lower Bid $ ON THE CONTENT NETWORK | Website with High CTR High Conversion Rate gets paid High AdSense EPC 70 % | Website with Med. CTR Med. Conversion Rate gets paid Medium AdSense EPC 50 % | Website with Low CTR Low Conversion Rate gets paid Low AdSense EPC 10 %
$ 5.00 | $ 1.00 | | | |
$ 0.50 | $ 0.10 | | | |
Google retains ALL of the Bid $ on the "Search Network.". | | High quality publishers get most of the advertiser bid $. If the high CTR publisher provides high volume, is he rewarded with a higher EPC? I guess yes. | | Google keeps most of the ad $ bid from low quality publishers. Why should they pay them for not performing as well as others, and sometimes not performing at all? |
